Welcome

The College & Career Center (CCC) is a place where students may come to find out about college visits, scholarships, job openings, field trips, and volunteer opportunities. We are here to provide information and guidance to help students navigate their post high school options. The Center provides many resources to meet the interests and needs of students, including career exploration, college planning, scholarships, college visits, volunteer/community service, and employment.

Advice for Finding a Career You Love

Boost your resume and make a positive impact on our community!

Become a member of the Kirkland Youth Council (KYC), a group of about 40 teens representing all the middle and high schools in Kirkland as well as private and home-schooled students. Each member of the Youth Council has the responsibility of representing their school, social and cultural group, the City, as well as the youth of Kirkland to the City Council and other local government groups. They have completed several projects that have had a positive impact on the community and have given Kirkland teens opportunities, voice, and the recognition that we deserve.

They are currently conducting our annual new member recruitment and respectfully request your assistance in getting the word out about this amazing and unique opportunity for teens.

If you can think of any students that might make excellent candidates for the Youth Council and ask them to complete an application, we would be super grateful!  The online application can be found here and are due by Friday, September 29th.

If you can give us your assistance, I would like to point out that a large percentage of highschool students in KYC are from LW while only one teen is currently representing Juanita. Out of our submitted applications, 70% were from LW. One another thing, we haven’t had a person from Emerson in five years, so I am currently trying to reach out to the school too. I believe that representation matters, and since there is an imbalance of representation regarding highschool students residing in Kirkland, I am reaching out to you for any assistance or advice you may have to get the word out to others.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out or contact our staff person, Regi Schubiger.  Thank you for your time and support!
