Running Start

** Running Start program allows 11th and 12th grade high school students to take college-level courses at community and technical colleges. Students can earn both high school and college credits through this partnership between the K-12 and community college systems.**
 

How do I sign up for Running Start for 2023-3024?

If you are planning to access Running Start for the 2024 school year please follow the steps below to sign up!

 

STEP 1
Watch the below JHS RS presentation and complete the meeting form. If you attended the in person orientation on 3/15 AND signed in using the QR code that was there you can skip this step.

STEP 2
Determine which school you will be attending for Running Start & ENROLL with them. You will find specific instructions for each school on their websites.

Bellevue College

Below is the Bellevue College Informational PPT
STEP 3 - For students that currently attend JHS
Read through the JHS Running Start Packet with your parent/guardian and then complete and submit the JHS Running Start Agreement form. 

OR

STEP 3 - For students that are enrolling in JHS for the 2024 school year to access RS
Read through the JHS Running Start Packet with your parent/guardian and then complete and submit the Non JHS Running Start Agreement form. 

 

STEP 4
Counselors will be notified when your RS Agreement has been submitted and will reach out to you to schedule a meeting to complete the process. Counselors will not have running start meetings with students until steps above are completed and the agreement form has been submitted.
Please understand that counselors will prioritize immediate student emotional, wellness and academic needs and this may mean that you will not hear from them immediately. 

 

Have questions?  Counselors are available in the lobby of the counseling office daily before and after school and at lunch. Any counselor can answer general questions!
