Secondary Asynchronous Learning Plan

Asynchronous learning resources for April 12, 2021

Transition week plan: Secondary teachers will participate in a transition week from April 12-16 and during this time, students will engage in asynchronous learning. On April 12, guidance and resources for learning will be provided by District staff. For April 13-16, lessons and resources will be provided by a student’s teachers.

District guidance for asynchronous learning for Monday, April 12: Students will engage in a few required lessons and/or tasks and will then choose a learning menu for the day from the chart below that best meets their needs.

  • Required activities: All students will need to engage in these two activities:

    • COVID safety videos: In order to ensure everyone is practicing safe behaviors in the return to school, all students will need to watch a series of videos on safety practices and COVID.  The videos will be posted on this webpage by 8 a.m., Monday, April 12. This is required for students who will attend school in person, and is strongly recommended for students who will stay remote.
    • Attendance: In order to be counted present on April 12, all students need to fill out this short Form by Tuesday, April 13.

  • Continued learning in current classes: Students should prioritize any work assigned by their teachers.  In some classes, teachers may have given assignments that stretch over the entire week, including Monday. Students should also look over the sites where their teachers assign work or post lessons and consider if there is learning or work they would like to review or extend and prioritize that work as well.

  • Options for additional learning: After completing work for their current classes, students should then choose additional learning options from the chart below. They do not have to complete all activities but should use this time to individualize their learning and choose options that meet their needs and interests.

High School and Beyond Plan: "About Me" and CORE lessons

Students may choose from a variety of Xello lessons that are part of completing their High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) for grades 6-12. Students should choose the lessons that are connected to their grade level and complete those first.

Students can access these lessons by going to our district website and logging into their Xello account using their single sign-on process. Once logged in students will be able complete both the required and optional lessons as well as any lessons that are still incomplete.

Students can also have fun exploring the optional Xello lessons to gain a more complete understanding of their HSBP future planning options.
