Sixty-seven Lake Washington School District (LWSD) high school seniors have been named semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the semifinalists on Wednesday, September 11.

The Equity team based out of Juanita High School had an idea. They wanted to help get rid of meal debt for all seniors at Lake Washington School District’s four comprehensive high schools.

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) continues to focus on its efforts around inclusivity. High school athletic directors, in cooperation with the Special Services Department, launched the first Unified Soccer program this spring at Juanita High School (JHS), Lake Washington High School (LWHS) and Redmond High School (RHS).

The City of Kirkland unveiled a new street sign at the entrance to Juanita High School on May 29.

One Juanita High School (JHS) teacher received a regional award for the exceptional work he is doing in world language. Elmer Delgado teaches the Spanish for Spanish Speakers (Heritage) class at Juanita High School.
