LWSD students awarded UW Presidential Scholarship

EHS, JHS & LWHS UW Presidential Scholars

Eastlake High School senior, Sophia Lisboa, Juanita High School senior, Marina Chaibub and Lake Washington High School senior, Anna Tiberi, recently received a momentous surprise at their respective schools. Surrounded by family, school staff and well-wishers, they were presented with the prestigious Presidential Scholarship by the University of Washington. This merit-based scholarship, founded in 2018, recognizes students for their emerging leadership, community engagement, notable innovation or creativity and recognized talent.

The recipients were honored with a special package informing them of their selection. The scholarship provides $10,000 annually for up to four years, supporting the students' undergraduate education at the University of Washington. In addition to financial support, the scholarship offers a customized leadership-development track which provides opportunities for training, practice and reflection.

The recipients' dedication to creating positive change and making a difference in their communities exemplifies the values the Presidential Scholarship seeks to honor. Their achievements not only highlight their individual talents but also serve as an inspiration to others, demonstrating the impact of leadership and community engagement.
