LWSD hosts Formal Wear Drive to support students for prom and homecoming

Formal Wear Drive flyer

Lake Washington School District’s Student Excellence and Engagement Department is launching a Formal Wear Drive to ensure that all students have access to clothing for upcoming school dances, such as prom. This districtwide effort invites community members to donate gently used, infashion formal attire that can be shared with students who may benefit from additional support.

From March 16 through May 1, the district will collect a variety of clean, gently used items in good condition, including prom and homecoming dresses, suits, dress pants, jackets, button‑down shirts, dress shoes, belts, purses, jewelry and other accessories. Donations should reflect current fashion trends and be free of stains, tears or other damage.

To make giving convenient for families, donation bins will be available at the following locations:

  • LWSD Resource Center
  • Juanita High School
  • Eastlake High School
  • Lake Washington High School
  • Tesla STEM High School

All donated items will be made available to LWSD students at no cost, helping ensure every student feels confident and included during formal events.

For questions, contact: FamilySupports@lwsd.org.

This community effort reflects LWSD’s ongoing commitment to supporting student well‑being and ensuring equitable access to memorable school experiences.
