Lake Washington School District (LWSD) is excited to announce that we have adopted a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This unified communications platform is designed to keep families informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with LWSD. It provides a safe way for district administrators, school administrators, teachers, staff and families to:

If your family could use extra assistance with food or other daily resources please reach out to Ms. Hamilton who will add you to our Family Resources list. We can make sure you have access to Pantry Packs, Nourishing Networks Safeway Vouchers, some basic household items, school supplies and more. Your information and request to be added will not be shared beyond Ms. Hamilton and your students counselor. There are resources available, just let us know what you need and we will do what we can to connect you with them!

SUPER Wednesday

is coming October 12th! 

On Wednesday, October 12th, Juanita HS and all other LWSD high schools will be hosting "Super Wednesday". This will be a day of testing for 10th-12th grade students at JHS. 

-9th: Remote. Attendance will be taken by participation in remote activities/lessons.
-10th: PSAT District pays fee for all 10th graders. 10th graders are expected to take the assessment.  Alternate activities are not provided.
-11th: PSAT/NMSQT or Remote/Home Option
-12th: SAT or Remote/Home Option
Cost Breakdown and Test Description:
PSATThe PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  The purpose of the PSAT is to familiarize students with the kinds of questions, style of directions, and physical environment of an SAT exam, and provides students with a projected SAT score range, personalized feedback, and a study plan.  Eleventh grade students who take the PSAT/NMSQT are also automatically screened for the National Merit®Scholarship Program; an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. 
-Free for 10th graders
-$18 for 11th graders

SATThe SAT is a test is used by many colleges and universities in the admissions process.  The district is only allowed to offer the SAT without essay on October 12.  Achieving a certain score on the SAT is one of the methods to meet the Graduation Pathway requirement in Washington State. 
-$60 for 12th graders


The deadline to pay for the PSAT (11th grade only, 10th is free) and SAT (12th only) is September 12th, by 3PM. You can pay by clicking on this link, or drop by Ms. Grager's office with a check or cash. Students who receive free/reduced food services qualify for a fee waiver ($0).
